A Candle for Hope ©2006 Downtown lights come to life with a Christmas spirit A Melody is playing softly for those who can hear it Anyone can hum along as holiday joy enters our heart If unfamiliar with our tradition, singing is a start Santa Claus will come to visit children in our town Elves tag along helping to pass all the gifts around Nothing can match the joy coming from a Childs face As they assure Santa they were good under Gods grace Snow usually falls around this special time of year It brings family closer together to give good cheer A pine tree is set in the corner of our family room Decorations are put on branches to take away gloom Gifts placed under this tree of magnificent beauty Waiting for Christmas morning, just like you and me Mistletoe hangs from a doorway for those who dare All for a little kiss someone would like to share Christmas dinner is another tradition we do enjoy Right after toys are claimed by every girl and boy Stories are told of the year we are leaving behind A wish made for next year to turn out just as fine Christmas captures our hearts, there is no debate We welcome you into our holiday home to celebrate Our own tradition a candle shall burn every year In hope all finds peace during this holiday cheer
